Had a great weekend in Brooklyn, thanks. The barbes performance went rather well. This music is starting to come together, at least for me. It's probably more of a recording project than a live one, but I think it may have been amusing for the audience at least on the comedic level. I tried to give a Hollenbeck-like explanation of the genesis of the pieces (which I probably won't do anywhere else) and that got a few laughs. I guess if you name a piece "Love and Wisdom," you will get a laugh from a New York audience.

Sunday brought us to a fancy luncheon for Forsythia Day at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Julie's beloved ex-workplace. I'll spare you the sentimental details, but it was surprisingly moving. I got to meet Borough President Marty Markowitz, who gave me a Brooklyn lapel pin and assured me, "You'll be back."

On that note, Refuseniks (John Hollenbeck, Reuben Radding, and myself) will be playing one of our infrequent reunion sets at tonic's alumni festival on Saturday afternoon. I hope some of you will come support tonic in its waning hours.

CORRECTION: Due to a schedule mix-up Refuseniks will not be appearing at the tonic alumni fest. Bummer.
