'Hannibal' - Our Group Edit .
Cat, Alex, Ash and Rob.
We were given an opening sequence from the film 'Hannibal' directed by Ridley Scott. It had been shot using four different camera's, camera A, B C and D. Our aim was to create a new edit from these camera's shots, to make it different from the one seen in the film. By starting with an establishing shot of the market place it sets the scene for the rest of the clip. Beginning with slow, long shots it builds up the tension and also slowly introduces the characters into the plot. Then, when the plot begins to speed up with the action and excitement of the gun shoot out, the pace begins to quicken. The action is reflected through the quick, snappy jump cuts and camera movement.
